Our Pastor
Pastor Robert Hammond was born and raised in rural Western New York. He is a graduate of Buffalo State University, where he completed his undergraduate studies in 1989. Following college, he worked for several years in medical research and pharmaceutical advertising in New Jersey and New York City.
In 1997, Pastor Hammond and his family began attending Long Hill Baptist Church. As they grew spiritually, they became increasingly involved in the ministry of the church. Sensing God’s call to pastoral service, he returned to school and earned a Master of Biblical Studies degree in 2006. In 2009, he was called by the congregation to serve as pastor of Long Hill Baptist Church, where he continues to serve faithfully today.
Pastor Hammond has pursued additional training through Bible Baptist Theological Seminary, Hope Biblical Counseling Center, and Texas Theological University & Seminary. He is committed to careful biblical exposition, sound doctrine, and practical application of Scripture, using the King James Bible.
He has a heart to see people of all ages come to saving faith in Jesus Christ and to grow in spiritual maturity. Pastor Hammond preaches expository messages through entire books of the Bible.
In addition to his pastoral responsibilities, Pastor Hammond has served as a visiting instructor at New England Baptist College and Rift Valley Baptist College in Kenya, and has led Bible study outreach at the University of Bridgeport.
