Children & Teen Ministry

At Long Hill Baptist Church in Trumbull, our goal is to reach young people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We encourage young people to lead a life that is characterized by growing reliance upon Christ and obedience to him.

We accomplish this through a youth ministry that is built around a Sunday morning classroom program together with weekly preaching services, ongoing service opportunities, day-trips, retreats, and summer camp. Learn more below:

  • Young people enjoy being here. However, we are not an entertainment-oriented church. Our priority is Christ-centered Bible teaching that encourages a passion for learning and genuine spiritual growth;

  • Our teachers are knowledgeable, experienced -- and compassionate;

  • We offer a very low teacher-student ratio that allows for teaching that is both practical and personal;

  • Despite our small class size, we are blessed with a broad demographic mix. Everyone is welcomed and made to feel at home;

  • Our facility is safe, clean and pleasant.

Special Needs: We desire to be a loving and compassionate help to inviduals and families with autism and other special needs. Contact Pastor Hammond to discuss your needs.

Our Sunday Schedule: Our Sunday program has two parts: Sunday School class at 10:00 a.m. and a church service at 11:00 a.m. Young people are encouraged to attend both. See details below.

  • Sundays at 10:00 a.m. Youth aged 5-17 attend age-appropriate Sunday school classes at 10:00 a.m. Adult Bible classes meet at the same time. A nursery is available for younger children through age 4;

  • Sundays at 11:00 a.m.

    • Youth aged 5-10 attend Junior Church. Junior Church is an age-appropriate program that meets on the lower-level of the building. Junior Church is taught by a Bible-college graduate;

    • Ages 11 & up attend our main service with adults on the upper level of the church building.

  • Transportation is available. Our church is pleased to provide transportation for youth and adults. Youth who are not accompanied by an adult require a signed permission form. Download here.

In addition to our weekly program, young people are also invited to participate in day trips and overnight retreats:

  • Winter Retreat - An overnight retreat for young people ages 12-18. Held each February in a beautiful setting in Stafford Springs, CT. (February 13-14, 2026)
